What is WiredSafety?

WiredSafety: The World’s First Internet Safety and Help Group was loosely organized in 1995. The US charity site is run entirely by volunteers—including the founder and director Parry Aftab—who focus on educating and helping everyone regarding Internet safety. 1

The website offers informational articles on privacy, cybercrime, safety, security, as well as a host of other topics. To make the learning fun, Wiredsafety includes short video clips, games, and lots of printable materials. 2 The entries are specifically prepared to help cyber victims, educate individuals on cybercrime prevention, and provide downloadable resources for interactive, learning centered activities. 3

Offshoots of the site include TeenAngels, TweenAngels, WiredTeens, WiredKids, and StopCyberBullying
